The Xbox360 can be bought in two different bundles, the Core bundle or the Premium Xbox360 bundle.  The Premium Xbox360 bundle contains an Xbox360 Games Console, a 20GB Hard Drive, a wireless controller, a headset, a faceplate, an Xbox Live Silver membership, a free trial of the Xbox Live Gold membership and the cables needed to use the Xbox360 Console.  The main differences between the premium and core bundles are the price, the type of controller, the headset and the memory options.  The console is as standard while the hard drive and faceplate are both detachable and can be replaced.  The faceplate can be purchased in various other colors and gives a certain personalized feel to the console.

The headset is used to communicate with other players online on Xbox Live.  The headset attaches to the wireless controller and is a popular feature of the premium Xbox360 bundle.  Players can make teams or go head to head on many games and chat to each other using the headset.  This helps the social experience of the Xbox360.  The Xbox Live Silver membership is free but the Gold trial that comes with the premium Xbox360 bundle is there in order to entice the players to renew their Gold memberships due to the extra online features made available to them.  The wireless controller frees up space previously taken up by cables and makes the use of the Xbox360 easier.  All of these features make the premium Xbox360 bundle a lot more expensive than the basic core system.

Choosing the Right Bundle – Xbox360 Premium or Core Package

The right bundle depends on how you plan to use your Xbox360.  The Xbox360 premium package has wireless controllers while the core bundle has a wired controller, this can make a major difference in the storage and use of a console.  The headset that allows real time voice chat possible during a game is only available on the premium Xbox360 bundle; the core bundle is a lot more basic.  However, not everyone that buys an Xbox360 will ever use the headset so this needs to be taken into consideration.  If wired controllers do not get on your nerves and you have no use for a headset, then maybe the core bundle is for you.

The other big difference is the memory option; the premium package includes a 20GB hard drive while the core bundle offers a 64MB memory card.  The difference between the two is huge but if you do not plan on using the Xbox360 a great deal then the purchase of the more expensive premium Xbox360 bundle may be hard to justify.  The Xbox Live Memberships are only of use to people who use the Xbox online and although these people will get a great deal of use out of the premium bundle, others may not.  The core bundle is the basic package and is suitable for people who want straight game playing and do not require any extra features or advantages.  The premium Xbox360 bundle is designed for the type of person who plans on using their Xbox360 so that they get the most out of every feature and option.  Before choosing a bundle, decide on the type of game playing that suits you, as you may only need the core system.  The premium Xbox system is a lot better but also a lot more expensive and each feature and accessory should really be utilized in order for the player to get the most of their Xbox360 system.
