Xbox 360 vs PS3 vs Wii

It’s the seventh generation of consoles, and figuring out which one is right for you can be a daunting task. Do you go with the Wii, the Xbox 360, or the Playstation 3? People have been known to spend hundreds of dollars on something that, in the end, does not fit their personal needs. So, how do you find out which one is right for you? Well, you compare. We will start with what is probably the most popular of the three, even if it is not the most bestselling.
Xbox 360: The first of the seventh generation consoles and perhaps the most wellknown, the Xbox 360 is often called the “future of gaming”. That is because at the time it was released, it was the best that gaming had to offer. Not only had gamers never before seen such crystal clear graphics, but the console also featured the Xbox Live service, a membership that allowed gamers to play games online on their console, as well as download emulated versions of older, classic games. This has since been imitated by both Sony(Playstation Network) and Nintendo(WiiWare, Virtual Console, and Nintendo Wi-fi Connection).
The catch with Xbox Live, however, is that you must pay $70 to sign up, and an additional $50 every year to renew. If you renewed your membership every year for five years, you’ll have payed $270 for extra benefits from an already expensive console. The fact that these networks on the PS3 and Wii are completely free rubs salt in the wounds of Xbox fanboys, as they watch Sony and Nintendo gamers come back to their consoles to play games year after year, without having to pay a dime.
Xbox Live is widely considered superior to both Sony’s and Nintendo’s online networks. But do a few exclusive features alone justify the cost? Is it worth it? If you think you are an X360 guy, it’s something you are going to have to consider carefully, because the cost of such a venture really adds up in the end.
Wii: The Nintendo Wii is currently the bestselling console of all time. When Nintendo built it, they wanted to start something new; a change of pace. Shigeru Miyamoto, the company’s president, has expressed that he realized that customers will always ask for better and better graphics. Not only that, but every time they get their wish, the product becomes that much more expensive. So instead of focusing on graphics, Nintendo focused on innovation and discovered motion control. Gamers can now make motions that correspond with actions onscreen in a totally new way.
So if you’ve been playing games a long time, the Wii might be the thing you’re looking for. Not only because it provides a refreshingly unique control scheme, but because you probably used to play many of the games now available on the system’s online Virtual Console network. NES games, Super NES games, Nintendo 64, you name it. There are even a few Sega Master System and Genesis games, like Sonic The Hedgehog. Many of the games are surprisingly cheap, and can be stored onto an SD memory card. Never got to own all the old Zelda games? Now you can.
Not only that, but the Wii is backwards compatible with Gamecube games. Some of the greatest and most wellknown games of the sixth generation of gaming were on the Gamecube: Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Tales of Symphonia, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, etc, not to mention many other third-party titles. Even if you missed out on the sixth generation initially, there’s still time to experience it.
Playstation 3: And yet, of all the current consoles, the PS3 may be the best gaming-related investment you can make right now, if you’re the kind of guy who wants something that will last. In terms of hardware, the PS3 is the sweetest piece of technology gaming has yet seen, and will be for a while yet.
Each PS3 contains a built-in Cell Processor at 3.2 Gigahertz. It has the potential to process information at a speed unlike any other console. Not only that, but the PS3’s Blu-ray discs can hold up to 50 GB. That means it’s game’s also have the potential to contain almost four times more information than any other console’s discs.
Also, consider the PS3’s Blu-ray player. So maybe you don’t have an HDTV. Many people don’t. But things will not stay that way for long. And when you do get an HDTV, won’t you wish you had a console that took full advantage of it? And if you do already have an HDTV, Blu-ray movies are the most satisfyingly advanced way to see a movie in your home, and will be for years. Sure the PS3 is the most expensive of the consoles, but it’s got free online and great hardware.
So, there are the facts. The alternative is to just buy all three. However, not only is it an extremely expensive proposition, there’s no way you can invest equal amounts of money and attention in all three, and thus will not get your money’s worth out of any of them. That is how I see it, anyway. I guess that ultimately, its up to you.

The fun of Having Madden on Xbox360

Finally it is here: Madden on Xbox360. People have been waiting with impatience for this game to come out, and it has finally arrived. There are many different reasons as to why having Madden on Xbox360 is such a great thing; namely because the previous Madden games have all been so great, and so everyone was quite confident that Madden on Xbox360 would only be improved – they were right.
Features of Madden on Xbox360
There are many wonderful features of Madden on Xbox360, such as the fact that Madden 06 was basically just built from the ground up for the Xbox360, and yet it still feels just as good as you would expect it to. The on-field action is truly incredible however there are a few changes here.
For instance, the play calling system has been reworked and then separated into a bunch of categories, and you can choose plays instead by formation, play type, coaches, picks, Ask Madden, and key player, and this gives you great and easy access to a huge number of various different plays and options, and thus the series is definitely better for it.
There are really no negative comments about this game, and all of the changes that have been made compared to Madden 06 are rather subtle for the most part, but noticeably better at the same time. There have truly been nothing but great reviews in this regards, and this game is fun for both children and adults alike.
It is considered that the best feature of all of this game is the graphics, as the stadiums and the crowds have truly never looked better and more realistic than they do here. As well, the players, from the reflections on the helmets to the fabric of their uniforms, have never looked better, and this adds a lot to the game’s impact overall.
The sound is also incredibly well done, and the music and the actual sound effects are different, but much better overall. As well John Madden is no longer the announcer, but rather he has been replaced by a radio-style announcer who is considered as being infinitely better than Madden. You also hear a lot more chatter between the players on the field and the coaches and so on.
If you are looking for a great football game, and just in time for the pigskin season, then you will absolutely want to pick this game up.
